RASMi is a London-based archival platform founded by Sunayah, aiming to preserve the cultural values and heritage of communities within Asia and its diaspora. Existing primarily as a digital archive, yet activated within contemporary spaces and media, it highlights traditional practices and craftsmanship through the mediums of fashion, beauty and art.

Blending research, visual storytelling, and creative collaboration, RASMi considers intergenerational knowledge, overlooked rituals, nuances and techniques that have shaped identities across South, Central, East and West Asia.

SYNC UP: Resonance of Heritage, 2025

In partnership with The Wanawal (founded by Êvar Hussayni) and supported by The Casbah*,  SYNC UP: Resonance of Heritage explored themes of storytelling, archiving and preservation of heritage through a screening of films by Hark1karan and Tsunaina, followed by a conversation into their wider artistic practice and how archives infiltrate their work moderated by Dalia Al-Dujaili.

The event featured a multi-sensory listening session which invited guests to experience practices of memory preservation and heritage continuation through a mix of music and field recordings curated by Sunayah and Êvar in collaboration with sonic artist Olivia Melkonian, accompanied by an archival film. Custom canapés were served during the listening session by Ayesha Erkin, blending traditional South Asian and West Asian flavours with a contemporary twist. Throughout the evening,  DJ’s Shama Anwar, Shivum Sharm and Mabruk kept guests moving with their global sounds.
